The Church Communications Committee is seeking a volunteer for the role of SEKAM church magazine editor.

Funded by adverts from local businesses, the SEKAM church magazine is a source of fun, interesting and important information for the whole community. The role of editor is an exciting opportunity for someone to use their skills to contribute to this.

A printed publication, the magazine is delivered by volunteers to every house in the village. There are around 10 issues per year requiring approximately 5 hours work per issue.

Content for the magazine is supplied by the Rector, the Parish Council, Brands Hatch, the village school and various local groups, and the editor will insert this into the magazine using software such as Microsoft Publisher or similar. The Church will supply suitable software for the successful applicant if they do not have this already. There is a small committee which meets 3 times per year to agree editorial content for the next 3 to 4 months.

Ideally, the committee is looking for someone who has editorial and/or publishing experience, but the present Editor is willing to continue until the end of the year, so there is an opportunity for the successful person to work alongside them for a few issues, depending on how long it takes to find someone.
